I have so many projects that I have started and even more that are still in my head waiting to come out!
But as you can see my work space can't handle any more!
And my storage area is overflowing...

On the mend!

Thank you, thank you...
my headache left the same day it came.

I was even well enough for a sunset drive through the desert with my Sweetie and my Skippy.
We headed north out of Phoenix and stopped in a little town called Cave Creek.
Very cute! Lots of art galleries and little shops...it all has a very Western feel to it.

Sweetie treated me to a lovely dinner and we sang old songs on the way home.

Was a great way to start the weekend.

I think the headache may have been all the ideas that started popping up in my head this weekend. I have so many new things I want to try!

Some are secrets and some you will see in the Blossom Shop on Etsy very soon...

Look for new pieces in the YooFoo Shop soon too.

Ok, gonna get back to it! My space is covered in chain and beads and notes and all kinds of fun things!

have a great monday!

oooh! magazines.....

I just love magazines.
Lots of them.
I only subscribe to a few though.
Otherwise I think I would be totally broke.
But this past weekend I treated myself to a few.
Somerset Magazines are incredible!
I found one call Somerset Apprentice that I had not read before.
They seem to review a lot of simple beginner techniques for different kinds of art.
I love to dabble but I don't always know what I am doing.
And I know there are lots of ways to do things that I have no idea about.
Some might be old pros at all the fancy cool techniques...but not me!
So I figured this is a good refresher and a good way to learn some different ways of creating... you never know what will inspire you!
I also found Belle Amore Jewelry!
Right up my alley (so to speak).
Again, so much inspiration to be found. Very lovely and interesting things.
And then the old stand by, Martha Stewart Living.
Such lovely pictures.
And then...the one I have been waiting for....
Somerset Studio March/April 2009.
I picked it up and flipped quickly through the pages..where is it, where is it???
Just as I was coming to the end of the magazine..there is was...the whole back page in colorful glossy goodness!

But where? where exactly is it??

ah ha! right there, almost right in the middle of the page!
My sweet little Blossom Shop ad in a sea of Lollishop lovelies.

A bit of fun with mini canvases

I took a little break from jewelry to do a little painting...it had been a while!
I had these great 5 X 5 canvases and thought I would get inspired.
It started with the butterfly on this one:

I looked at that butterfly on that canvas and it conjured up emotions...
So I went with it.
I scoured the old book I use for art for words that described what this painting made me feel.
I loved the way it turned out...so I did more.

Hope you enjoy them!

Treasure Hunting and Fabric Found

Well...I ended up not needing to buy new fabric the other day.
I went back to the fabrix box and lo and behold, the perfect fabric was in there just waiting for me! AND there was even plenty in there.
After some folding and pulling and tucking and stapling....it all came together so nicely!

And voila!

A pretty new footstool.

Now on to the Treasure Hunting!!!!

I got a few very special little goodies the other day and thought I would share them with you.

You remember my collections blog from a few weeks back? Well, I think I have started another new collection...yikes!

The Dress Form!

I think I have about 5 of them now, all in different shapes and sizes. I just love them! So be on the look out for them for me!

I also found the most interesting pair of fold up magnifying glasses!

Aren't they a hoot?!?!

And sparkly to boot!

Speaking of shoes and sparkles...I got a few other little treasures as well.

I think that the sparkles on that pearl necklace there are going to find themselves a new home.

Be on the look out on Etsy in the future!

A big thanks to Sweetie for being a good sport and taking me to that amazing Estate Sale.

the best made plans....

I was so excited!
I had the perfect project to work on.
Simple and I already had everything here at the house that I needed to get it done.
I had this cute little footstool that I made into a tuffet many years ago...it had very cute yellowish gold Indian inspired fabric on it. I decided it needed an update.

First step in any good furniture update...PAINT!
My color choice du jour....black.

I even had some left over from a chair project I did last year.
I stripped the little stool of its previous finery and
the painting began, one leg at a time.
Flip!!

Gotta make sure you get all the spots.

I let it dry over night....

Get out the fabric box...

I had leftovers from a different chair project that would be just perfect!

I tried the fabric scrap one way...hmmm, not quite gonna work.

Best to flip it the other way.

NOOOOOO!!!!! that way does not work either.

Well there goes that idea...

I guess there is a trip to the fabric store in my future.

darn :)

Spring is in the Air!

hello my dears!
As much as I miss the cold damp winters of the SF Bay Area, I am embracing the lovely Spring weather here in the desert.
I decided to do some planting...in pots. Since my green thumb is much more teal than actual green I figured container gardening is the way I should go.

I just can not resist fluffy pink and white and purple flowery lovelies!

And there really is something about the purple anemones that make me smile.

I hope you enjoy my little bits of Spring!
