Busy as a Bee

First of all....

happy birthday yesterday Mom!!
I look forward to our chat later on today.
I finally spent some time making the backyard beautiful this past weekend.
My sad and empty hanging pots are now filled with color and there are pots of flowers and greens in every corner. Even the lights are up!

The mushrooms have a new home in this metal pot.

Gardenias and herbs adorn this table.

This plant is called a Mermaid...can't wait to see what blooms!
I am loving the moss covered pot!

Such a treat to spend the evening outside with the candles lit!

Today I did a bit of thrift shopping. I found some wonderful things!

I am not sure what kind of glasses these are...if you know please leave me a comment.

PS. These glasses are only about 4 and one half inches tall!

More glass jars for my art goodies!

Bird nests, leaves and flowers..oh my!

Clothes pins for a crafty idea I have....

These pretties will be taken apart and used for parts in a jewelry creation for my shop!

I have been looking for a little "tree" type thing to hang seasonal decorations.

This one even came with eggs! There are a few different degins but all are quite cute.

Shop news!
I have been a busy girl for Blossom Shop the last few days as well. I am surprised I had any time after the potting and thrifting!

I will be putting up some beautiful garnet, peridot, amethyst and indicolite (a lovely dark blue color) wire wrapped silver hoops.
I have a few more ideas for new designs as well...just waiting for the parts to arrive!

Back to salt mines for me!

Have a great day!

Shop Update!!!

I put lots of new goodies up in the shop!
I am also trying to purchase a "Showcase" slot on the Etsy website. I will let you know when I am able to get the slot and how to find me once its up!
I have a feeling they sell out fast...its going to be like sleeping outside the record store for concert tickets (I am talking pre-internet people!)
I am waiting for my shipment of pins and chain to come in so I can keep the new goodies coming.
Its been a quiet week, not much to fill you in on...more to come later!

A bit of a copy cat~

A few weeks ago I was on Romy's blog and saw the cutest box she had some jewelry in. I ran right out to Michael's to check them out. They weren't on sale.

Never buy anything at Michael's that is not on will be on sale within 3 weeks. I have no actual facts to back this up except my word! Everything I want at Michael's is on sale sooner or later. I LOVE that!

I went back just 2 nights ago and guess what, YES! it was on sale.

I swooped it right up and brought it home. I love it! It is made to hang on the wall but it looks great lying flat on the dresser and I can organize all my personal jewelry. I seem to have to much...I wonder why....

Thanks for the great tip Romy!

There also seems to be a rash of copy catting (is that a word?) going on in the house as well. The mushroom garden upstairs is looking so good that there are now mushrooms "growing" in the backyard as well!

This will not be their final home but for now they seem pretty happy!

This week I am in the midst of an epic art project! I have no idea what I am doing but I am having a ton of fun!

A sneak peek you ask? but of course!

I am as anxious as you to see what will become of this!
have a great weekend everyone!

Big Shop Update!!! and Shopping recap

Lots of new goodies in the shop today!
Check 'em out!

I went to my first Estate Sale last week. I found a bunch of nice little things to bring home~
Pretty blue green clip on earrings.

Perhaps a ceramic pendant? I am sure I will be making this into a necklace soon!
Some sort of metal work...maybe to use in an art piece.

Tiny little wood Christmas ornaments, so charming!

One earring...I know, but it was so cute! Maybe it will bring me good luck!

Sweet blue butterfly pin.

Another glass jar for the craft shelves...they are brimming with supplies!
While John and I were out and about on Saturday we came across this group of antique and "junque" (heehee) shops. I immediately demanded the car be turned around, he is such a sweetie!

My favorite shop in the bunch was called "Paris Street Vintage". So girlie!!! I walked in the door and just stood there, I did not know where to start. They are having an open air market in their parking lot on the 19th....guess where I will be!

I read a book this weekend, it was so nice to just lay around read.
The title of the series is very fitting for this post, seeing as this post is all about shopping.
I read "Shopaholic and Baby". This author has a whole series of books about the shopaholic (Rebecca) and her adventures. Its one of those Brit Chick Lit books, I love those.

I have been thinking about doing a whole set of little mini paintings/mixed media art. I have a few ideas bouncing around in my head...if I can get a grasp on what I want to do I may have some things to share with you soon!

I will check in again soon!
