Bazaar Bizarre SF recap and what a whirlwind month November was!

Whew!
Well I have been back for a week now just finally feeling like I can make a post.
Bazaar Bizarre San Francisco was a ton of fun!
Non-stop from 10am when the doors opened to 5pm when they had to whisk people out the door.
It was a beautiful San Francisco day and everyone was in great spirits and ready for some holiday shopping.The celebrity spotting for the San Francisco show was Adam Savage from the show Mythbusters.Thanks for supporting handmade Adam!! We love Mythbusters!
And a big huge thank you to my friends that came all the way up to The City to see me. It means so much to me. :)
Was so great to see everybody!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
one more time...whew!
November was absolutely crazy!
Here is where it all began...

:Holiday Hotness:
Fun drive from Phoenix to Los Angeles. Thanks to our wonderful hosts for letting us stay at their home in Santa Monica.
We had yummy sushi, tapas and Dim Sum that weekend.

There were even dinosaurs to stop and say hello to!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next weekend sweetie and I went up to Prescott for a long weekend. It was lovely!
Even the drive started out fun!
A beautiful sunset....
A silvery, glowy moon...
A stop for gas in the middle of no where...
The house we rented was so cute!
We kept the home fires burning.....
and really had a wonderful and relaxing weekend.
Can't wait to go up again!
:Birthday Time!!:
There were balloons and cake and tacos and good friends!
Hope you had a happy Birthday Sweetie :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I know you are saying WOW~! what a busy month you had...oh but wait, there is more!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Moving...
I have no pictures to visually tempt you with but believe me...it was quite a day.
Boxes and stairs and heavy furniture and U Haul and neighbors....oh my!
There was even a King size mattress heaved over the balcony of the loft!
(I really wish we had video of that!)
Thanks much to Andy and Richie and Bob and Rich and Max and Debbie and Marcus and Jeremy! You all are the best!!!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

:Thanksgiving:

What an adventure that was!

Lots of cooks in the kitchen and about 20 people to feed.

But I would not have changed anything for the world.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And that brings us back to Bazaar Bizarre SF.
wow, what a wonderful fun filled month that was.
I am looking forward to seeing what December brings!
San Francisco days....San Francisco nights
Greetings from San Francisco!
Sweetie and I had a wonderful dinner at Cafe Delucchi in North Beach (the Italian neighborhood) and a walk through Chinatown.
We even took a peek at Cafe Vesuvio where Jack Kerouac spent his time back in the day.
Today we are spending the day with my brother and his fiancee.
We are oh so gonna be tourists!
Dont forget....
Sunday is Bazaar Bizarre!
Come on up to SF and start that Christmas shopping while you support Indie business.
See you there!
Style Substance Soul
Hi all!
Just popping in really quick to tell you about a wonderful website for women called
Its a website for women, by women. Read here to learn about these ladies!
I had the pleasure of meeting one of the SSS women, Amy, at the Holiday Hotness Bazaar in Los Angeles in early November.
I immediately loved her energy and enthusiasm for what she was doing and for what I was doing and knew I wanted to be involved in their website.
I am still getting to know the site and having a great time poking around in all the information they have to offer.
Please do yourself a favor and sign up on their site. You get email updates with interesting information and you are supporting women that support women.
There is also a Showcase tab that I am thrilled to be a part of.
You can shop for jewelry and food and clothing and gifts and things for your pets and kids!
Not only are you getting great gifts and things for yourself, you are supporting small business which is very important in these tough economic times.
Its time to gear up for the holidays and shopping for that unique gift just got easier!
take some time for yourself and check them out!
have a great thanksgiving!
Or I am just an email away if you need something special made!
Get any orders in quick so I can get it made before the holidays!
I am hoping and wishing that I am able to get a few new things put up on Etsy in early December.
AND! there will be new pieces at MADE in downtown Phoenix very soon!
I look forward to taking a TON of pictures and having a really great post all about it when I get back.
And pictures of Thanksgiving and the new house....wow! so much going on. FUN!
Happy Halloween!
Oh my, what spookie sites are to be had this frightful night!
Where can they be off to? And where did they come from???
I don't think I want to know what lies under this swarming mass....
Seems a ship of the pirate type has made its way to our shores....
What sort of ghoulish delights does it have in store for us???
Was this the pirate King that once reigned supreme?
An old portrait? Was this a couple the pirate pilaged?
Busts of other not-so-lucky holders of the pirate's booty?
An unlikely cemetary for those unfortunate ones????
Will there be more this frightful night?
Is the nightmare over????
The Stars at Night...
are big and bright.
(clap, clap, clap, clap)
Deep in the heart of Texas!
What a fantastic trip!
I just love Austin. Can't wait to spend more time there.
(Hi Marissa! Hi Darrell!)
The Maker Faire/Bazaar Bizarre was so much fun...
I have no idea where to begin.
I guess I start with pictures and let the story just unfold....
ready? here we go-
The vendors!
Of course I was not able to meet everyone but those I did get to were wonderful and so very talented.
Of course there is our friend Jen of Starving Artist Bazaar.
Doesn't she look lovely all ready for a full day of selling?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now for the new friends!

Kasey (pictured above) and her sister Kelly of Biggs & Featherbelle from Baltimore.
Amazing bath products. BEST lipbalm EVER!!!!!They even had a celebrity purchase during the show! woohoo!Good going ladies!Can't wait to see you at another show!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Sweet and crazy Annemarie from Austin and her amazing bags!
Looking forward to seeing you again!

Some lovely little things I picked up from her in a trade.
LUCKY ME!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The very energetic gal and talented artist from Austin, Collin Welsch!
This was one of my favorites! Just made me giggle.
This lucky lady also had a purchase from the celebrity that was spotted at the faire!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The very creative with a Polaroid, Elizabeth Soule from Portland.

I just love finding something from my Etsy Favorites list in person!
Can't wait to get this little man framed and up on the wall.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A perfect vendor apron for me! Did you see that pink ruffle at the bottom?
Well I sure did and scooped this baby right up from Textile Festish!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The cutest journals recycled from old books.
Michelle from Attic Journals in Portland is genius!

I found the most perfect journals for me and Sweetie at her booth.
Thanks Michelle! Can't wait to see you in SF at the end of November!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Michele at Xylocopa in Tucson gifted these beauties to me.
Thanks so much for your kindness Michele!
These beads are made from shell and agate.
Just beautiful! Can't wait to see what I can do with them!
There were plenty other vendors there too, all with wonderful things.
Its so great to see all the talent out there!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I also had the pleasure of meeting Jessica and Joe from Funky Finds.
Got to love people who loves the chihuahua!

Jessica and Joe are dedicated to promoting independent artists, crafters & designers world wide.
Gots to love that too!
I am looking forward to working with them a lot in the future!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Outside of the barn Bizarre Bazaar was in there was a whole world of Making going on.
Arts and crafts and robots and food and movement and all sorts of fun.
Sweetie spent some of his time takin' in all that Makin'.
He came back with a little goodie for me!
This kit is from Pickup Sticks Online.
It looks really cute! I better get out those knitting needles and get a few refresher courses...
I've got some homework to do!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another neighbor of mine was not a vendor...but he gave away things.
Ping-pong balls.
Was quite musical too....all.day.long......

It sang a little bit of this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yu_moia-oVI
and a little bit of this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8OjguOWKqg&feature=related

and some other things that I have already forgotten (thank goodness) :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All in all it was an amazing 2 day adventure.
I loved meeting all the people that came by the Blossom Shop booth and let me jabber on about the jewelry that I love.
The organizers and volunteers of Bazaar Bizarre were fantastic! Can't wait until San Francisco!
The vendors were all so wonderful!
But at the end of the weekend we all felt a little bit like sweet Guapo here:
If you are interested in Guapo's personal political choice you might want to click the link below!
Oh! almost forgot our mystery celebrity!
Bill Murray spent some time at the Faire on Sunday.
Was fun for everyone to get to say hello and spy on his purchases!
Thanks Bill!
wow!
a mega post!
hope you made it through ok.
i have a million new ideas running through my brain.
i will be trying to set some of them in motion this week.
But for now, I am still exhuasted.
Round Two
We are all packed up and ready for more!
Leaving for Austin, Texas in the morning. I am really looking forward to this trip!
I have new displays and some really cute new earrings for younger girls that I am really excited about.
I am looking forward to no wind and warmer temperatures...hopefully that will put everyone in the mood to shop!
I have the camera ready and barring any unforeseen adventures I will be snapping away to be able to share all the fun with you when we get back!
Be good and I will see you soon!
xoxo
OH! Visit Vanessa Valencia at A Fanciful Twist this weekend.
She will be having her FABULOUS Halloween party.
what an experience.....
Well the Prescott show is over...wow.
Outside shows definitely have their challenges. This one just happened to have all the challenges at once.
But before I start my therapeutic spilling of emotion, let me just say thank you to everyone who stopped by the booth to say hi, take a peek and even buy a few things. It was wonderful to meet everyone.
Our fellow vendors were wonderful too. A big HI! to the gentlemen from the Prescott Woodworkers Club. Thanks for all your help.
Hugs and smooches to Sweetie and the Bledsoe clan...that Pumpkin Spice latte really hit the spot!
The biggest thank you and great big hugs go to Donna and Ken. WOW! you two are so sweet and amazing. Thank you so much for opening your home to Jen and I and doing all you did for us.
----(big hug)-----
ok, here's a quick recap of the events of the day.....
Tent went up...and wind took tent down over night...not just down but over, inside out and broken everywhere....ugh
This is not us...but its similar. Ours was more twisted broken metal. I was too distraught to take any pictures of the actual event.
Wind kept blowing....blowing cold air...COLD! Blew us, blew the jewelry to the ground, blew the necklaces into piles of tangled chain.
Moving "booth" spaces (not really a booth when you have no tent...see above) to try and get away from the hurricane force Arctic winds. No help from the staff....just lots of trips with piles of our stuff through the shoppers.
Did I mention it was cold and the wind was blowing right through us?
Blowing the jewelry, blowing the customers!
It was almost too cold to shop (gasp!)
ok, done with the complaining :)
thanks for letting me get that out. Its taken me days to be able to even think about it again to write about it.
But I have learned some lessons from this, and that is what this is all about.
I have another show this weekend, Bazaar Bizarre in Austin, TX.
Its inside thank goodness!
But I have some new displays and a new outlook on things.
This one is gonna be great!
If you are in Austin come on by and say hi!
I am looking forward to sharing more stories when we get back!
xoxo
