What a wonderful party!

Congratulations to Vanessa at A Fanciful Twist for over 200 blog entries.
I am looking forward to the next 200!
We had a wonderful time here celebrating your success.
And I really enjoyed stopping by all the other parties and partaking in the fun there as well!

Here's a little peek at how we celebrated!
The table was set....
The tea was brewed....

The food was prepared....
The miniature guests arrived....

Skippy was all dolled up....and so was I (but someone had to take the pictures!)
All we had to do was wait for our not so miniature, but still very darling, friends to arrive!
We all had a wonderful time sipping tea and noshing the goodies...we laughed and talked and laughed some more. It was a wonderful afternoon.
I hope everyone enjoyed their parties as much as I enjoyed mine.
Congratulations again Vanessa, here's to 200 more!
huzzah!

But, alas, it will have to wait...I am just not in the blogland state of mind....

A Day at the Museum

I spent a wonderful afternoon at the Phoenix Art Museum with two great friends, Jeremy just in from Montana and Jen (check out her Etsy shop, she makes those lampwork beads!).
It's free every Tuesday after 3pm my fellow Phoenicians, get out there and get cultured!
We saw so much great stuff~
And I have the pictures to prove it!

I took about 100 pictures, how do I pick just a few for the blog???

I guess I pick my favorites!
Here we go!

The Mermaid
If you look just to the left of her face you will see her friend, just love it!

I love the wings on this one and the pink sleeves.

The most haunted bride I have ever seen....

Shells! There is the daintiest of dragonflys off to the left in this picture.

Something about her face...a hint of a smile and those eyes just draw me in.

I just realized all these pictures were taken in just one of the galleries in the museum...let me add a few other pictures from other galleries for more of a taste!

Philip Curtis...

he had so many funky amazing pieces. I am definitely going to need to spend some more time checking him out!

The fashion room was very cool. Unfortunately we were not allowed to photograph many of the designs...but I LOVE this skirt.
This was pretty cool, its actually the remains of a building that was struck my lightning and burned.
Just plain creepy, but so colorful!
Ahhh, the minitures room. This was so much fun! Unfortunately there was so much glare it was hard to get good photos of all the mini rooms.
But this one is my dream bedroom.
I was going to tease Romy and tell her this was the new dollhouse I put together!
What a great way to spend the afternoon!

Dolls and Canvas and Parties, oh my!

Well the paper mache doll is coming along slowly but surely!

Here is the latest:

She is all covered in PaperClay and her fleshy parts are fleshy colored!
I think I am intimidated by the hair and face...
But I will get there!
I have some fun ideas for her clothes as well..
But that is a secret until I figure it all out!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have also just about finished my next canvas:
Spring has Sprung
This one is a big one~ 18X24!
There are acrylic branches and a paper and ribbon nest and fabric and button flowers!
Too cute!
This one should be up on Etsy very soon!
I will also be putting up another canvas that I did a long time back.
It is an 8x10 canvas.
There is some blog fun coming up soon!!!!!
Vanessa Valencia is coming up on her 200th post on A Fanciful Twist and will be web hosting a Mad Hatter's Tea Party.
Here is how it works:
1) You get yourself all dolled up in your party finest, the crazier the better!
2) Whip up some tea time goodies, whatever you fancy!
3) Decorate your space, be it table or room or backyard!
4) Take photos and post them on your blog.
Let Vanessa know you are coming so that she can add your blog to her post and everyone can come check you out!
Its going to be so much fun, I can't wait!
Thanks for the fun party Vanessa!!!
see you all soon!
More fun for me!
What a great sunday!
Sweetie and I ran errands, had lunch and then sat down for some good ol' fashion craftin'!
I decided it was time to make the paper mache dolls I have been thinking about for ages.
With a little help from Somerset Workshop
and
Julie Bergmann
for inspiration and beginner directions, the work has begun!
Once the Celluclay dries its time to put on the Paperclay and get her painted and accessorized!
I can't wait to see how this little darling turns out~
If all goes well we may see a few of these in the shop!
Messy and fun ~ My favorite combination!
Sweetie had his own project...all I know is that there was spray painting and filing and painting with a teeny tiny paintbrush!
Another canvas is complete!!!
Mermaid
She too has a home ~ lucky girl!
My mind is filled with more canvas ideas, so there will be more to come!
