Show and Tell

I would say that most of the pieces made for Blossom Shop are fairly simple, I try not to go too crazy.

But a few weeks ago I was given a chance to step it up a bit, make something out of the ordinary for Blossom Shop...and boy was it fun!

My dear friend Pam wanted some spectacular pieces to show off how beautiful she is.

And she called on Blossom Shop to do the designing....

I was more than thrilled to oblige!

So I thought I would share the finished pieces with all of you!

And now we're back...

hi all!

Back a few days now from almost sunny Florida. What a great trip!

There were musicals and lizards and rain and sand and sting rays and late night sci-fi movies and sleeping in very late into the day!

Can't ask for much more than that!

Here are some pics of our day on Sanibel Island.

If you are in the Fort Myers area I highly recommend the wildlife perserve beach, absolutely gorgeous and peaceful and lovely and well, just perfect.

Once we got our day started it was in the car and off to the island.

Oh my...rain!

Well, we arent going to let a little rain spoil the day...off to lunch we go.


Hmmm, certainly is coming down...even in the safety of our behind the tarp table we can feel the moisture. But surely this desert dweller is happy for the moisture, no crying here!

Oh look! here are our fried pickles.....all is right with the world. (yes, they are sour and tasty, good eats!)

After lunch things seemed a to clear a bit...hurry! off to the beach before it starts up again!
We park the car and head down this boardwalk path...hmmmm, very mysterious.

Everything is so green and lush and wet and colorful!

Where are we going exactly??

A bridge! A bridge!

This is getting exciting!

Excuse me Mr. Birds...are we going the right way??

Once we came to the other side of the bridge I gasped!

Could this be real??

The sky, the water, the sand...too beautiful to be real.

I could smell the salt and feel the moisture in the air.

The closer we got the more I was sure it was not a mistake.

I had to dip my toes in to be sure!

We had made it! We were here!

The beach was made of shells of all shapes and colors.

The would crunch under your feet, it seemed a shame..but they were everywhere!

Even the sea urchins could not resist a little shell collecting of their own!

And before we left some sting rays swam by to say hello.

So welcoming!

The day was perfect...would you agree?

Since I got back its been work ~ work ~ work for Blossom Shop...no complaints here!

A few custom orders to fill. Busy hands keep a jewelry maker happy!

Headed off again!

wow! i certainly am on the go this month.

Tomorrow morning VERY early Sweetie and I are off to sunny Florida.

We are going to visit one of Sweetie's brothers and see him in one of his shows at the Broadway Palm Dinner Theater!

Can't wait to see you Mikey!

What a lovely weekend it was!

I just got back from a wonderful weekend with my mother.

Sweetie and our good friend Jen spent Mother's Day with my dear sweet wonderful mother.

Mine and Sweetie's moms were given special necklaces this year.

We love you moms! hope you enjoy them!

The stones on each necklace are for each of their children and their partners.

My mom also got a special dinner prepared by the "kids" (me, Sweetie and Jen).

We boiled...

and marinated...

and grilled...

and placed.

Everything turned out lovely!

Even the dogs were trying to help!

We ended the meal with a lovely dessert and hugs for mom.

We love you mom! hope you had a great weekend!

Blossom Shop is coming back to San Francisco!

Clear out the calendar so that you can be in San Francisco on July 18th and 19th at the Fort Mason Center's Festival Pavilion.

TONS of great artists (including Blossom Shop and Starving Artist Bazaar) will be there with fabulous things for you to buy.

It's never to early to start that Christmas list.

Support handmade and come out and see us!

I am packing my bags today and getting ready to head out to spend the weekend with my mom.

Sushi, mushrooms and all sorts of good things....

ahhh, i had a fantastic birthday this year. Good friends, good food, good times.

Yesterday afternoon my sweet friend Jen from Starving Artist Bazaar came over and we treated our toes to some pampering.

Then it was off to lunch in style.

We did not hold back!

Everything was so beautiful...

and fresh...

Later that day I got to go out again.

This time with Sweetie.

He took me to a very romantic restaurant and gave me my very special birthday gift.

Let's just say it sparkles :)

The waiter saw the box and my tears and knew we were celebrating something special and brought me a lovely dessert at the end of the meal.

He is quite ingenious..there were no candles so he improvised!

(yes! matches in a straw!)

A lovely end to a lovely day.

I could not have asked for anything more.

Happy Birthday to Me!!!

I love birthdays....mine or others, I just think its a time to celebrate eachother. But this time its my turn! And for me its not just a day...its as long as I can stretch it out to be!

So many lovely gifts wrapped in beautiful colors.

Birthdays can involve some fantasy and make believe too!

And the most delicious cake from Sweet Republic. My FAVORITE local artisan icecream shop right here in Scottsdale.

Tonight is my second birthday celebration with just me and my sweetie.
