Possibilites

I have been thinking about the last 5 months of my life. So many changes have happened.....the first that started this wonderful ride is my getting laid off from my job.

What seemed so devastating at the time opened the door to so many possibilites. Though things seemed grave and I did not know where to start, I am happy with where I am now. I have taken a situation no one wants to be in and made it into something I love and enjoy, something special to me.

I went thrift shopping over the weekend...or as my dear friend Jen calls it, "Goodwill Hunting".

I love to browse the shelves and the racks. These are just ordinary things that people have decided they have no use for. A talent that I believe I got from my mother is being able to pick through the discarded and see the possibility. How can I take this ordinary, discarded..well, thing and turn it into something I love and enjoy, something special to me.

.....my new possibilites....

Lots of work to do...

oh me oh my!

Three shows coming up so far this fall....and hopefully more acceptance letters on the way! I am going to have to throw Blossom Shop into full steam ahead and get designing new pieces. I already have a growing number of secret pieces complete...

Secret only because I have not taken pictures of them to share with you yet!

My little Pumpkin

I know I have said this before but being the auntie really is the best!

My little pumpkin and I spent the morning together....we made pumpkin bread!

such a serious little baker!

lots of concentration with the stirring!

yum yum, nothing like licking the whisk!

and voila! super moist, super delicious pumpkin bread!

The recipe come from my Great Aunt Betty from the farm.

3 cups sugar

4 eggs

2/3 cup butter

2/3 cup water

1 3/4 cups pumpkin

3 1/2 cups flour

1 tsp cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

mix it all together

bake at 375 for 1 hour

enjoy!

On the mend!

oh my! I am feeling so much better today!

Not 100% but I am getting there.

I have done nothing productive in the last 3 days so I am trying to get anything and everything done today.

I will leave you with some tasty treats to celebrate my upcoming recovery!

ugh...i'm sick

I don't feel well...how does a person catch a cold in the middle of August in the middle of the desert????

I don't know either but its spreading like wildfire around here.

And this week it's my turn. ugh.

There is so much I want to share:

1. Mine and sweeties roadtrip to Las Vegas

2. The cute cupcakes I made on a whim

3. My being accepted as a vendor at Bazaar Bizarre in Austin, TX

4. The fact that I have been making the cutest jewelry for the upcoming faires!

But alas...I am sick.

More chicken soup and Jasmine Green Tea for me...I hope to be right as rain very soon.
